HVL News: The Hunt For Hendo

From the Hendersonville Times-News

Downtown Hendersonville Inc. is asking for your help in finding a bear.

In 2006 the N.C. Apple Festival decorated a bear for the Bearfootin’ in Hendersonville public art display. Recently DHI has been using a 6-foot cutout made from a photo of the bear, called Hendo.

“We have been using Hendo as a marketing tool for DHI,” Marketing Director Nancy Tanker said. “Now we want to find the bear that this cutout is based on.”

… Since DHI has changed executive directors twice in recent history and moved its offices, members have not been able to find any paperwork on who may have purchased the bear at auction.

Have clue about the location of Hendo? If so, contact DHI at (828) 233-3216.
